One of the best country enameller (hot art enamel), whose skills to the mastery "procuring" colors were compared with a great colorist Kandinsky! The Foundation of works-expensive copper, special inks are used in decoration, precious metals. The high cost of works of art is the artist's talent an enameller, coupled with the tremendous high temperature enamel roasting technology that allows to create unique masterpieces.
The technique of working with hot enamel is extremely difficult: it melts at a temperature of 800 degrees Celsius, and the process of applying four layers occurs in approximately twenty stages. Yellow and white gold in 24 carats in the form of gold dust or the finest sheets is applied by hand and is burned into the surface of the product by special technology, and only then, during several stages of firing, the gilding and the colored enamel are combined with the multi-layer enamel coating of the jewelry. The work of art obtained in this way is not subject to time, it is simply forever ... however, all this is dry, let's say, facts that do not explain the rare, powerful and bizarre beauty of Andrey Avdeev's works.
So: magic of fire. Fiery witchcraft, in which the creator of it submits the strongest and most dangerous of the elements - the element of flame. In ancient times, when, to us, the present, for envy, who have no clear (and in general any) boundaries between the concepts of "artistic" and "artistic-applied" art, the artist was rightly considered not only a master, but also a creator, demiurge, magician. Such a definition is close to Andrey Avdeev like no other - he does not hide it, admitting: "Other works are so full of mystical light that one feels the feeling of another reality, another space - a feeling of eternity". So what is this reality - and what is a space?
The motives of Andrey's work, a follower of the concept of local color, balancing the extreme complexity of their technique, are nobly simple, but behind their apparent obviousness lies a deep inner content full of hidden mysticism. This simplicity, in which there is nothing superfluous, is the simplicity of the Bushido code or the Celtic skeleton, the ancient Slavic conspiracy or the Scandinavian saga - all the secondary, adornment mercilessly and truly swept aside, only the perfection of beauty and power remains. This is a very masculine, unconditionally masculine art, which is akin to the art of famous masters of the sword or legendary armourers, more military than an aesthetic one. Aesthetics without aestheticism, beauty without decoration, such is the creative credo of Andrey. "Things of Power" - once called magic amulets, and it is precisely "the things of the Force" that one would like to name the works of Avdeev.
The artist's view of the world is unique, - and the audience's equally visual, visual perception of his works, designed for associative, imaginative perception. Many discover a hidden philosophical principle in them - others, less prepared, perceive Andrey's work, rather, as a visible expression of his emotional mood - but both recognize unconditionally: these are strong works, and the impression they produce is not momentarily, but constantly. The plasticity of the material with which Avdeev works, the energy hidden in it - all this, combined with the artist's characteristic strong color and expressiveness of images, allows him not only to achieve again and again an entirely new, very personal, sense of beauty, but also to convey it to the viewer.
